The Market Regulation Administration held a meeting on anti-monopoly work for the year 2026.

On March 19, 2026, the anti-monopoly work conference was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The meeting was guided by Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, deeply studied and implemented the spirit of the Party's 19th and 20th National Congresses and various plenary sessions, earnestly implemented the requirements of the National Market Supervision Work Conference, summarized the anti-monopoly work in 2025, analyzed the current situation, and discussed the key tasks for 2026. Wang Tihan, the director of the Anti-Monopoly Bureau of the State Administration for Market Regulation, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting pointed out that since 2025, market supervisory departments at all levels have earnestly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, strengthened anti-monopoly supervision and law enforcement, completed 22 anti-monopoly cases throughout the year, concluded 706 cases of concentration of operators, and continuously optimized the market competition environment, effectively supporting the continuous improvement of the economy. The implementation of the fair competition review system has been deepened, and controls have been strengthened from the source; 96 cases of abuse of administrative power to eliminate or restrict competition have been investigated, effectively regulating government economic behavior and creating a healthy competitive ecology. The meeting emphasized that 2026 is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan". In order to do a good job in anti-monopoly work, focus should be on promoting the construction of a unified national market, continuously deepening the governance of fair competition, and making efforts to eliminate local protectionism and market segmentation, regulate market competition order, thoroughly rectify "inward competition", deepen international exchanges, improve institutional mechanisms, continuously enhance regulatory efficiency, demonstrate new responsibilities in serving national strategies, and achieve new achievements in seizing the initiative in international competition, making positive contributions to promoting high-quality development and a good start to the "14th Five-Year Plan". Officials from the market supervisory departments of Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, and Chongqing made exchange speeches. Officials in charge of the market supervisory departments of various provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as relevant departmental officials, and officials from the relevant departments and directly affiliated units of the General Administration attended the meeting.
