Iran's official television station reported that the United States and Israel hit its massive South Pars gas field and accompanying infrastructure in an airstrike. The report also said that nearby Asalouyeh oil and petrochemical facilities were also attacked. If the above claims are confirmed, it would mean that Iran's upstream oil and gas facilities have become targets of attack in this war for the first time. South Pars gas field is jointly owned by Iran and Qatar. European natural gas futures regained some lost ground. Data from the Intercontinental Exchange showed that as of 12:30 Amsterdam time, European natural gas futures were down 1.2%, after a sharp drop of 3.9% earlier.
