The European Central Bank urges banks to closely monitor the US dollar liquidity indicators.

A senior official of the European Central Bank said that, due to observation of some key indicators being weak in individual banks, the European Central Bank is urging lending institutions to closely monitor their USD funding situation. "We have also been calling on all banks to actively monitor their foreign exchange funding situation," said Pedro Machado, a member of the ECB's Supervisory Board, during a meeting on Wednesday. Machado stated that particular attention should be paid to the USD liquidity coverage ratio and the net stable funding ratio, "in certain cases, some banks have deficiencies in both of these ratios," but he did not disclose which banks.
