The Ministry of Natural Resources has specified ten key points for standardizing natural resources work this year.
Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources issued the "Key Points for the Standardization Work of Natural Resources in 2026", deploying 10 key tasks from four aspects according to the principle of "optimizing the system, streamlining the existing standards, and strict control of new standards", promoting the transformation of natural resources standards from quantity-based to quality-based.
In terms of deepening standardization reform and improving work mechanisms, the "Key Points" specifies three key tasks: firstly, effectively implementing the requirements of national standardization reform, optimizing the standard revision process and the management and operation mechanism of the national standardization committee, and adjusting the standardization technical organization system; secondly, revising and issuing the "Management Measures for Natural Resources Standardization" to enhance integration among departments, improve the mechanism of "joint development and release"; and thirdly, enhancing the synergy between technological innovation and standardization, promoting the linkage between national key scientific and technological projects and standardization, and facilitating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into high-quality standards.
In terms of strengthening overall planning and layout, the "Key Points" propose: firstly, issuing the "Natural Resources Standard System" to improve the framework of the standard system, strengthen the coordinated layout of business support, technical methods, and basic general standards, and construct a new type of standard system; secondly, strengthening the construction of specialized standard systems such as "One Map" construction, ocean carbon sink, and agricultural land, accelerating the formulation of relevant standards for data, platform, and scenarios.
In terms of comprehensively promoting standard updates and upgrades, the "Key Points" clarify: firstly, conducting a comprehensive assessment and cleaning of existing standards, integrating some, transforming some, revising some, abolishing some, and terminating some; secondly, conducting high-quality annual standard projects, strictly controlling the increase in standards, prioritizing the establishment of national standards, and promoting the establishment of a batch of mandatory national standards in the fields of production safety, ecological safety, geographic information security, etc.; thirdly, strengthening efforts to break through key emerging areas of standardization, accelerating the publication of industry standards under development and the approval of national standards, enhancing standard publicity, and conducting evaluations of the implementation of standards.
Furthermore, the "Key Points" also propose accelerating the internationalization of standards and the revision of important standards urgently needed for military-civilian use.
