On March 17th local time, Luis Enrique Arroyo, former Minister of Defense of Peru and retired Army General, was sworn in as the Chairman of the Peruvian Council of Ministers, replacing Dennis Miralles who resigned on the same day. Arroyo previously served as Minister of Defense and head of the National Institute of Civil Defense. This appointment is part of a cabinet reshuffle by the Peruvian government on the eve of a vote of confidence in Congress.
