Wang Zimu talks about the ice and snow economy: worried that "skiing will not surpass Changbai Mountain", calling on his hometown to implement refined management.

The 2026 Yabuli Forum Annual Meeting will be held in Yabuli, Heilongjiang from March 17th to 19th. During the ice and snow economy forum, Wang Zimu, the founder and former chairman of Huatai Insurance Group and chairman of the Sustainable Natural Resources Conservation Foundation, talked about his thoughts on the ice and snow economy. He expressed his special anticipation for the development of Heilongjiang's ice and snow economy, including the ski resorts in Heilongjiang. "I started my career here, but now I gradually feel that Heilongjiang is lagging behind in this aspect. I heard that out of the top ten ski resorts in the country, five are in Jilin. I am worried that there may be an old saying that goes, 'Investment doesn't go beyond Shanhaiguan, skiing doesn't go beyond Changbai Mountain.'" Wang Zimu mentioned that now there are large ski resorts in the Northeast, even further south and in the south, and he hopes that his hometown of Heilongjiang will truly pay attention to the ice and snow economy and manage it meticulously. Wang Zimu said that even when it is not suitable in the south, Heilongjiang can still host skiing events. "I hope people not only enjoy the winters at ski resorts, but also enjoy the summers at ski resorts, but they should prefer the winters at ski resorts."
