Nearly half of the gas stations in Laos are closed due to a shortage of oil, causing people to line up to "guard" the oil.
According to statistics from relevant departments in Laos, due to the continuous instability in the Middle East and large fluctuations in international oil prices, more than 1,000 out of over 2,500 gas stations nationwide in Laos have temporarily closed due to fuel shortages, nearly half of the total. Reporters from the main station have seen long queues of motorcycles and cars waiting for fuel at many gas stations. Some gas stations, even though they have put up signs saying "out of gasoline," still have people waiting on site. Data from the Laos National Fuel Company shows that in the past week, the price of premium gasoline has increased by over 30%, further exacerbating the pressure on people's travel and living costs.
