Shanghai's import and export in the first two months of the year increased by 23.1% year-on-year, and the month of February saw a record-breaking monthly growth rate.

Shanghai Customs statistics show that in the first two months of this year, the total import and export value of Shanghai reached 7965.7 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%, which is 4.8 percentage points higher than the national average. Among them, exports increased by 19.3% and imports increased by 26.4%. Since February of last year, Shanghai's import and export have achieved year-on-year growth for 13 consecutive months. Especially in the month of February this year, Shanghai's import and export reached 3975.2 billion RMB, a significant increase of 28.7%, marking the highest monthly growth rate since 2011. In the first two months, the export of electric vehicles and lithium batteries increased by 112.6% and 94.9% respectively, collectively raising the overall export growth rate of the city by 5.9 percentage points; the exports of ship-to-shore cranes, high-voltage electrical equipment, and industrial robots increased by 120.6%, 77.4%, and 153.5% respectively. At the same time, labor-intensive product exports increased by 10.4%, reaching a historical high for the same period.
