Chelsea has been fined tens of millions of pounds due to financial violations during the previous boss's tenure.

The Premier League announced on the 16th that Chelsea Football Club has been fined 10 million and imposed a one-year transfer ban on the first team, due to the club's violation of financial rules during the tenure of former owner Roman Abramovich. Since the ban has been postponed for two years, as long as there are no further violations in the future, Chelsea can still register first-team players as usual. The Premier League stated that this punishment does not involve any competitive penalties such as point deductions. In addition, the Premier League also investigated whether the club's behavior regarding the registration of academy players from 2019 to 2022 violated the Premier League's academy development rules. The announcement stated that as a result of this additional investigation, Chelsea Football Club has signed a separate punishment agreement.
