Two sources said that the actual closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the Iran conflict forced the state-owned oil giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to shut down production on a large scale, causing UAE's oil production to drop by more than half. This vital sea passage is typically used to transport about one-fifth of global oil supply, so the halt of commercial traffic has caused significant disruption to the global energy market. Earlier on Monday, ADNOC halted oil loading operations at the Fujairah port in the UAE due to a drone attack, the main oil refueling and storage center in the region. Following another attack over the weekend, the port had just resumed operations on Sunday.
