With the help of the major international event platform of the 2025 F1 Chinese Grand Prix, in order to attract more senior international business executives to Shanghai, the Municipal Commission of Commerce, along with the Canada-China Business Council, the UK-China Business Association, and others, recently invited over 20 top executives from multinational companies from 8 countries, as well as leaders of overseas business associations, to come to Shanghai to watch the race and participate in related business exchange activities. On the afternoon of March 15th, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, together with Jiushi Group, organized the invited guests to watch the F1 race at the Shanghai International Circuit. Deputy Mayor Lu Shan watched the race and interacted with the guests, along with Director of the Municipal Commission of Commerce Shen Weihua, Deputy Director Chen Hao, Vice President of Jiushi Group Gu Jiqing, and others. Nearly 80% of the invited multinational executives hold the position of Vice President or above globally, and are leaders of overseas business associations. The guests come from countries including the United States, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Ireland, and South Korea, which are major sources of investment in Shanghai. Their industries align well with the key industries in our city, and some companies have new investment cooperation plans in Shanghai. The Commission, along with Jing'an District, have arranged targeted business inspection and exchange activities based on the characteristics of the guests and their industries. Through immersive city tours and race experiences, multinational companies and institutional executives have strengthened communication and friendship with Shanghai, experiencing the vitality of the integration of culture, sports, business, and travel in Shanghai, and observing the internationalization and facilitation of the business environment in Shanghai. In the next step, the Municipal Commission of Commerce will continue to rely on and leverage the resources of the Shanghai International Cultural, Sports, Business, and Travel Exhibition platform, to create a high-frequency interactive global executive "circle of friends" through various forms, perspectives, and scenarios of dialogue and communication, showcasing new investment and development opportunities in Shanghai, and promoting new advantages of the business environment.
