It is reported that the government work report in 2026 clearly stated for the first time the development of offshore wind power, and the market generally expects the focus of wind power growth in the 14th Five-Year Plan period to be on offshore development. Huatai Securities released a research report on March 4, predicting that in 2026, the domestic wind power new installed capacity is expected to reach 130GW, with 120GW onshore wind power and 10GW offshore wind power. This forecast is based on the 2025 high bidding volume of wind turbines and nearly 9GW of offshore wind projects that have started but not yet connected to the grid. Data from Qi Cha Cha shows that the number of wind power-related companies registered in China is increasing year by year. In 2025, a total of 116,900 wind power-related companies were registered in China, reaching a new high in the number of related business registrations in nearly ten years. In terms of regional distribution, in 2025, the East China region had the highest number of registered wind power-related companies, accounting for 28.9%, followed by the North China region at 21.7%. As of March 16, in 2026, China had already registered 18,500 wind power-related companies, and the total number of wind power-related companies has officially exceeded 500,000, reaching 507,000.
