This morning at 10 o'clock, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the economic situation in January and February 2026. The news spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics stated that the economic performance in the first two months of the year started off well, which can be attributed to the cultivation of new productive forces and the growth and expansion of new driving forces. The deep integration of technology innovation and industrial innovation, as well as the accelerated expansion of "artificial intelligence+", has led to positive developments in the digital economy, driving simultaneous improvements in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. In January and February, the value added of the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry grew by 14.2% year-on-year. The rapid growth of the electronics industry has also driven growth in related upstream raw material industries, especially in the chemical industry, where the value added of the chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing industry increased by 7.6% year-on-year in the first two months. At the same time, with the development of artificial intelligence and the increasing demand for computing power, the driving force on the upstream energy industry is evident. In January and February, the value added of the electricity, heat production, and supply industry increased by 5.1% year-on-year, accelerating by 4 percentage points compared to December of the previous year, enhancing the driving force of the new driving forces for the entire industry chain. In addition, with the advancement of green transformation, the production of new energy equipment has significantly accelerated, with many new energy equipment products maintaining high growth rates, injecting new energy into economic growth.
