National Bureau of Statistics: The growth rate of electricity production in designated large-scale industries increased in January-February.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, the electricity generation of large-scale industrial enterprises reached 1.5718 trillion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%, with a growth rate 4.0 percentage points faster than in December 2025; the daily average electricity generation was 266.4 billion kilowatt-hours. In terms of various types of electricity generation, from January to February, the electricity generation of large-scale industrial thermal power plants changed from a decrease to an increase, the growth rate of hydropower increased, and the growth rates of nuclear power, wind power, and solar power generation slowed down. Specifically, the electricity generation of large-scale industrial thermal power plants increased by 3.3% year-on-year, compared to a 3.2% decrease in December 2025; the electricity generation of large-scale industrial hydropower increased by 6.8%, with a growth rate 2.7 percentage points faster; the electricity generation of large-scale industrial nuclear power increased by 0.8%, with a growth rate 2.3 percentage points slower; the electricity generation of large-scale industrial wind power increased by 5.3%, with a growth rate 3.6 percentage points slower; and the electricity generation of large-scale industrial solar power increased by 9.9%, with a growth rate 8.3 percentage points slower.
