News reports state that Nvidia has lowered production of the Rubin GPU due to supply issues with HBM4.
The supply chain has revealed that due to lower-than-expected HBM4 supply, NVIDIA has downgraded the rollout of the new generation Rubin GPU platform. Wafer foundry manufacturers disclosed that NVIDIA originally planned for the Rubin GPU to gradually replace the Blackwell platform starting from 2026, and to occupy a considerable proportion of advanced packaging capacity. However, due to technical adjustments and capacity constraints in the HBM4 supply chain, the production schedule for Rubin may be delayed, resulting in a lower than previously estimated share of NVIDIA's overall CoWoS packaging capacity.
