The first round of voting in the French municipal elections has ended.

On March 15th at 8pm local time, the first round of voting for the 2026 municipal elections in France came to a close. The first round of voting took place nationwide, with approximately 48.5 million registered voters called upon to go to polling stations to participate in the voting. Polling stations across the country opened at 8am that day. Most polling stations closed at 6pm, but in big cities such as Paris, Lyon, and Marseille, the voting time was extended until 8pm.
