The US embassy is requesting that American citizens immediately leave Iraq.

On March 14th local time, the US Embassy in Iraq issued a security alert stating that Iraqi militia armed groups have launched attacks on American citizens and related targets in multiple locations in Iraq. American citizens are advised to immediately leave Iraq. The US Embassy also reminded that Iraq is currently at Level 4 "Do Not Travel" travel advisory level by the US Department of State, and warned that American diplomatic facilities, businesses, and places commonly frequented by foreigners may be targets for attacks.
