According to sources familiar with the matter, Ivory Coast is selling its next main cocoa bean harvest at prices far below international futures prices. The country has sold approximately 350,000 tons of cocoa for the production season from September to February next year, at prices ranging from 2,200 to 2,300 British pounds per ton. These contract terms indicate that traders expect international prices to drop further. Ivory Coast has already sold 300,000 tons in advance for the current harvest season ending in August.
