The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade was awarded the inaugural "Outstanding Contribution Award for Sustainable Market Initiative".
During the 2026 Earth Charter Roundtable Conference and Exhibition in London, England, on the 12th, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade was awarded the inaugural "Sustainable Market Initiative Outstanding Contribution Award". The award was presented by King Charles III of England. The organizers of the event stated that the award recognizes the outstanding contributions of CCPIT since the establishment of the Sustainable Market Initiative in 2020, such as establishing the China Council, promoting harmonious development between people and nature, and injecting strong Chinese business force into the global sustainable development cause. Earlier in the day, a China-focused event with the theme "Win-Win Partnership for Green Transformation" was held with over 100 representatives from Chinese and foreign business communities attending. CCPIT President Ren Hongbin actively introduced China's latest strategic plans and future outlook for green development in the "Five-Year Plan". He stated that China's high-level opening up to the outside world creates new opportunities for mutual cooperation between China and other countries. CCPIT is willing to work hand in hand with the global council of the Sustainable Market Initiative to deepen global cooperation in the green sector within the framework of the Initiative, accelerate the delivery of green achievements, and achieve a higher level of mutually beneficial cooperation. The Chief Executive Officer of the Global Council of the Sustainable Market Initiative, Sefi, stated in her speech that pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation partnerships during the transition process is the only way to achieve global goals, and that they have learned a lot from China. The China-focused event also included thematic discussion sessions where participants discussed the global role of the business community in sustainable development and green transformation, the special value and development trends of green supply chains, and cooperation opportunities. The Sustainable Market Initiative was launched at the 2020 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, during the period when Charles III was Prince of Wales. It is a multilateral business cooperation mechanism in the field of sustainable development. CCPIT established the China Council for the Sustainable Market Initiative in August 2022, actively coordinating with the global council and forming a professional force to participate in international cooperation at a high level.
