Due to the military strikes against Iran by the United States and the continued disruption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, several major energy companies operating in the Middle East have recently announced production cuts or shutdowns. French energy giant Total Energy Company stated on its official website on March 12 that due to the delays caused by the Middle East conflicts, the company has stopped or is in the process of stopping some of its oil and natural gas production in the waters near Qatar, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates, which is expected to affect 15% of its global oil and gas production. However, the onshore oil production in the UAE, which is exported through the Fujairah port, remains unaffected.
