"Wanquan Official" news, on March 13th, the Urban Management Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau of Wanquan District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, issued a situation report: In response to media and netizens' feedback on the water supply problem in the Xihao Lijing Community of Wanquan District, our district attaches great importance to it. The area has already started the project to improve the water supply capacity in the region, and is currently accelerating the progress. It is expected to achieve tap water access by the end of June. Since the establishment of this community, professional organizations have conducted annual water quality tests on the well water, all of which meet national drinking water standards. According to Jimu News, on March 12th, residents of the Xihao Lijing Community in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, reported that "while tap water has been available in rural areas, our community's tens of thousands of residents have been drinking well water for nearly ten years." Water quality problems include high content of scale and insect eggs. The Wanquan District Water Affairs Bureau previously stated in writing that after investigation, unauthorized drilling and water extraction was found in Section C of the Xihao Lijing Community, violating Article 48 of the Water Law of the People's Republic of China and Article 12 of the Underground Water Management Regulations. The bureau has sent a letter requesting the closure of the self-supplied well in Xihao Lijing Community on November 18, 2025.
