Canada will invest nearly $35 billion Canadian dollars to strengthen defenses in the north.
Local time on the 12th, it was learned that Canadian Prime Minister Carnie announced that the federal government will allocate nearly 35 billion Canadian dollars to prepare for a wider range of military operations in northern Canada, in order to defend against potential threats facing North America and maintain territorial sovereignty in the Arctic region. Most of the 32 billion Canadian dollars will be used to upgrade the forward operating locations in Yellowknife, Inuvik, and Iqaluit, as well as the deployment operating base in Gjoa Haven. These facilities provide hangars, fuel, and accommodation to support fighter squadrons serving the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
