The west section of the Shendong Tunnel of Shenjiang Railway has reached a breakthrough of 3000 meters in excavation.

On March 12th, the western section of the Shendong Tunnel of the Shenzhen-Maoming Railway successfully broke through the 3000-meter mark under the construction of the "Kunpeng" tunnel boring machine. The project has achieved a key milestone, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent tunneling and the successful completion of the entire line on schedule. The western section of the Shendong Tunnel is approximately 15.3 kilometers long, with a 3.84-kilometer section constructed by the "Kunpeng" tunnel boring machine. This tunnel section is a 13-meter-diameter single-hole double-track tunnel, with the line descending from 9 meters underground to 62 meters. The construction difficulty and safety risks are extremely high, making it a key and challenging project of the entire Shenzhen-Maoming Railway.
