The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a notice on the 10th entitled "Notice on Launching the Industrial Data Foundation Action and Conducting Pilot Projects for Building High-Quality Industry Data Sets for Empowering Artificial Intelligence" to focus on breaking through the bottleneck of industrial data "collection" and "utilization". The notice sets a goal to cultivate a number of industry data cooperation alliances by the end of 2026, construct key industry data trusted interconnection platforms, gather a number of industry data resources, tackle key data technologies, formulate industrial data standards, create high-quality, standardized, and shareable industry data sets, and empower the implementation of industrial large models and industrial intelligent bodies. Regarding the implementation entities, the notice specifies that the focus will be on the manufacturing industry's key sectors with a solid foundation for digital transformation and great potential for value mining in data. It will rely on key industry enterprises, platform institutions, advanced manufacturing industry clusters, and city pilot projects for the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises to establish alliances for pilot projects. In terms of key tasks, the notice mentions relying on alliances to build key industry data trusted interconnection platforms, create four major resource repositories including industry data resource libraries, data technology research libraries, industrial data standard libraries, and high-quality industry data set libraries. It will also focus on key aspects such as research and development, design, pilot testing, and production to implement scenarios such as industrial large model applications and industrial intelligent body development. Furthermore, the notice requires relevant parties to increase resource support and actively seek funding support through channels such as the "Dual Support" policy. It encourages local industry and information technology authorities to support pilot projects through special funds, government incentives, and other forms of support. Leveraging the national AI open source community, it aims to promote the construction of an industrial data open source area. It also encourages alliance units to engage in school-enterprise cooperation.
