According to the U.S. media Axios, the White House is preparing to issue an executive order instructing the federal government to stop using Anthropic's artificial intelligence products in its operations. Court documents show that Anthropic's chief financial officer stated that the U.S. government's actions could result in a decrease of billions of dollars in revenue for Anthropic's entire business by 2026. Anthropic filed a lawsuit on Monday seeking to prevent the Pentagon from including them on a national security blacklist, escalating a high-stakes battle with the U.S. military over restrictions on its technology use. Anthropic claims in the lawsuit that this designation is unlawful and violates its freedom of speech and due process rights. Anthropic has filed a lawsuit in a federal court in California, asking the judge to revoke the designation and to prevent federal agencies from enforcing it.
