European natural gas futures opened higher but closed lower, with Dutch natural gas narrowing its increase to less than 5.6%.

In the afternoon of the European market on Monday, ICE UK natural gas futures rose by 3.43%, to 142.13 pence per therm, quickly reaching 170 pence at 15:02 Beijing time after a gap up opening. TTF benchmark Dutch natural gas futures rose by 5.56%, to 55.945 euros per megawatt hour, quickly reaching 69 euros at 15:01 after a gap up opening. ICE EU carbon emissions trading permits rose by 0.85%, to 69.82 euros per ton.
