The State Council Information Office held a press conference today, and the person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, they will promote the deep integration of scientific and industrial innovation from three aspects: increasing the supply of high-quality technology, strengthening the position of enterprises as the main body of technological innovation, and promoting the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. In terms of technology layout, they will target the forefront of world technology, strengthen the strategic, forward-looking, and systematic layout of basic research, and deploy national major scientific projects aimed at the year 2035 in advance to produce more iconic original achievements. In terms of capacity building, they will coordinate the layout of national strategic scientific and technological forces, including national laboratories, national research institutions, high-level research universities, and leading technology enterprises, promote synergy among various types of innovation subjects and elements, and improve systematic innovation capabilities. In terms of supply and demand matching, they will focus on strategic areas and weak links in the industrial supply chain, drive key core technology breakthroughs in the entire chain, and build a modern industrial system that is independent, secure, reliable, and competitive.
