CAAC: Starting from May 1st, all newly produced drones must have the operation identification and reporting capabilities.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued a notice regarding the identification of networked operation of civil unmanned aerial vehicle systems. The Civil Aviation Administration will carry out the reception and processing of networked operation identification information through the comprehensive management platform for civil unmanned aerial vehicle systems. Starting from May 1, 2026, all manufacturers of civil unmanned aerial vehicle systems must ensure that the drones they produce and sell have the ability to send operation identification signals, and that their technical specifications fully comply with the requirements of GB46750-2025. The operation identification information should be sent directly from the drone to the UOM, and the drone should automatically and continuously send the operation identification information throughout the entire flight powered by its own power, and should not have the ability to disable the transmission. For drones sold before May 1, 2026, manufacturers should upgrade them according to relevant requirements.
