Zheng Zhajie: Increase efforts to improve the efficiency of macroeconomic regulation this year. Both intensity and synergy are emphasized.

On March 6th, at the economic themed press conference of the Fourth Session of the Fourteenth National People's Congress, Zheng Zhajie, director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that this year is the beginning of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan", and the beginning is crucial for the overall situation. In order to achieve the expected goals, efforts will be focused on four aspects. The first aspect is to enhance the efficiency of macroeconomic regulation, adhere to the principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and strive to improve quality and effectiveness with a focus on both intensity and coordination. Intensity means continuing to implement more proactive macroeconomic policies, and increasing the intensity of counter-cyclical and cross-cyclical adjustments. Coordination means leveraging the integrated effects of stocks and increments policies, the superimposed effects of macroeconomic policies and reform measures, and strengthening coordination in various aspects such as finance, monetary policy, industry, investment, employment, consumption, prices, and regions, to effectively deploy a combination of policies.
