According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 5th, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who is also the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, inspected the "Choe Hyeon" destroyer on the 3rd and 4th of this month. He stated that the progress in the naval nuclear armament is satisfactory.
It was reported that on the 3rd, Kim Jong-un boarded the destroyer to understand the sailors' ship handling and the preparation of various weapon systems. On that day, an evaluation of the destroyer's maneuvering elements was conducted under Kim Jong-un's observation.
Kim Jong-un expressed satisfaction with the smooth progress of the pre-service trials of various systems on the destroyer. He said that the new destroyer is a new symbol of North Korea's maritime defense force, and the evaluation trials for its operational use are progressing smoothly as planned.
Kim Jong-un also mentioned that the progress in the naval nuclear armament is satisfactory. He said that the North Korean navy will possess immensely powerful attack capabilities, and if certain forces are afraid of the strengthening of such defense capabilities, it means they are enemies of North Korea.
The report mentioned that on the 4th, Kim Jong-un observed a successful test launch of a sea-to-ground strategic cruise missile from the ship.
