Journalists have learned from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that Chinese researchers have discovered fossils of bony fish dating back to 436 million years ago after more than ten years of field excavations and indoor research. They have also revealed the morphology and important features of the jaws, teeth, and cranial of two primitive bony fish species, providing important evidence to fill in the evolutionary chain from fish to humans. This research was completed by a team led by Chinese Academy of Sciences academician and researcher Zhu Min from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology. The related findings have resulted in 2 academic articles, which were published concurrently on March 5 in the international academic journal "Nature."
