Research institutions predict that during the World Cup, global daily Token consumption will be over 5.35 trillion.

A third-party independent research institution recently released a white paper predicting that during the 2026 World Cup, the global daily Token consumption will exceed 5.35 quadrillion, with only World Cup-related AI users expected to consume 1.584 quadrillion Tokens daily, equivalent to 3% of the global AI computing power demand. Throughout the World Cup, users will consume close to tens of quadrillion Tokens, mainly for generating related videos and images, as well as listening to AI analysis and predictions for the next match. The white paper points out that this is not only a challenge for event operations, but also a stress test for global AI infrastructure.
