In 2026, National People's Congress deputy Lei Jun brought several suggestions. Lei Jun pointed out that humanoid robots are expected to become one of the disruptive products in the future industry, following computers, smartphones, and new energy vehicles. With the continuous breakthroughs in general artificial intelligence technology, China has already formed a first-mover advantage in the field of humanoid robot technology. However, there are outstanding issues in the large-scale engineering application of humanoid robots, such as poor process stability, high individual hardware costs, and a lack of workshop positions, leading to humanoid robots still being in an "apprentice" state rather than truly transitioning to "formal workers." Lei Jun's suggestions include: accelerating the breakthrough of engineering challenges to establish conditions for mass production; expanding intelligent manufacturing applications to increase the utilization of humanoid robots; strengthening the construction of safety standards system to promote the application of humanoid robots (Securities Times).
