Worries in the US credit market have risen to the highest level since October.
The US corporate credit risk index recorded its largest single-day increase since October 10 on Tuesday. Influenced by the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, oil prices surged, causing both the stock market and government bond market to decline. As of 10:55 AM New York time, the Markit CDX North American investment grade bond index spread widened by 3.15 basis points to 57.83 basis points, reaching its highest level since May 27. When risks increase, this index rises. A similar index for junk bonds fell by 0.72 to 106.28, hitting its lowest level since November 21.
