During the World Mobile Communications Conference in 2026, Liu Guiqing, the General Manager of China Telecom, said that China Telecom and China Unicom have shared more than 1.54 million 5G base stations and over 2 million 4G base stations, saving a total of $56.5 billion in investment and $6.5 billion in operating costs per year. Liu Guiqing stated that the innovation of 6G standards and network deployment must fully consider the rapid development of artificial intelligence. The establishment of 6G standards needs to actively adapt to the rapid iteration of AI development, achieving deep integration of network connectivity and intelligent engines.
