According to reports from Turkish Anadolu Agency and other media, the news of "Iran's former president Ahmadinejad assassinated" reported by Iranian media on March 1 is not true. The report stated that a close associate of Ahmadinejad, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I am in contact with him and he is fine. Yesterday (February 28), a building related to his security personnel was attacked. His three bodyguards - all members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - have been confirmed dead. But his residence was not affected, located about 100 meters away from the targeted building and was not the target of the attack." Earlier, Iranian media had reported that Ahmadinejad, who served as Iran's president from 2005 to 2013, was assassinated in airstrikes by Israel and the United States. However, Iranian media reporting this news has now stated that the information has not been confirmed. (CCTV International News).
