The Yangtze River Delta Railway is expected to carry 2.45 million passengers today, with plans to add 179 extra train services.
Journalists learned from the China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd. that with the Lantern Festival approaching, the passenger flow during the Spring Festival travel rush in the Yangtze River Delta region continues to be at a high level. On March 1st, a total of 2.981 million passengers were sent, an increase of 25.1% compared to the same period last year, and it is expected that 2.45 million passengers will be sent today. The railway group has increased the capacity of key routes and peak travel times, with plans to add 179 passenger trains on March 2nd, and expand 125 high-speed train services, including 119 direct passenger trains mainly serving long-distance passengers from regions such as Northeast China, Yunnan-Guizhou, Sichuan-Chongqing, Northwest China, Hunan, Hubei, and Henan to major cities in the Yangtze River Delta. Additionally, 60 local passenger trains will be added, mainly serving short-distance travelers from regions such as Hefei, Fuyang, Bengbu, and Xuzhou to cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Ningbo.
