Hong Kong announced the full implementation of online appointment for testing-free issuance of Hong Kong official driving license counter services.
The Transport Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today that starting from March 16, it will comprehensively implement online appointment for the issuance of Hong Kong driving licenses without test, and increase the number of appointments. It will also expand the service to all four Licensing Offices in order to facilitate applicants and make more efficient use of resources. The "Electronic Same-day Counter" arrangement will also be cancelled on March 16. Starting from March 16, the number of appointments for the issuance of driving licenses without test will be increased to a total of 550 per working day, and will be expanded to all four Licensing Offices. To further enhance efficiency in handling applications, dedicated counters for the issuance of driving licenses without test will be set up at the Licensing Offices in the Kowloon Licensing Office at the Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, the Kwun Tong Licensing Office at the East Kowloon Government Offices, and the Sha Tin Licensing Office at the Sha Tin Government Offices. These dedicated counters will handle applications submitted with Mainland driving licenses. The Hong Kong Licensing Office in the Central Government Offices in Admiralty will continue to process applications submitted with driving licenses issued by all recognized countries and regions.
