The Afghan capital was struck by airstrikes resulting in consecutive explosions.
Afghan government spokesman Mujahid confirmed on March 1st on social media platforms that the country's capital Kabul was bombed by Pakistan and said that the situation was under control. At around 5:40 am on March 1st local time, Xinhua News Agency reporters heard continuous explosions in the sky over Kabul. The military attacks and defenses between the two sides lasted for about half an hour. On the night of February 26th to the early morning of February 27th, there were clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan in border areas of the two countries. Pakistani military air strikes hit the Afghan capital Kabul, as well as multiple locations in the southern Kandahar province and the eastern Paktika province, leading to a rapid escalation of tensions between the two countries. Pakistani Defense Minister Asif announced on the 27th that Pakistan had launched a "public war" against Afghanistan.
