In order to protect aquatic resources, in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on implementing the ban on fishing in the eight major river basins, starting from March 1, Zhejiang's Qiantang River, Ou River, Jiao River, and other eight major river basins will enter a comprehensive fishing ban period. March to June is a critical period for the spawning of river fish and the growth of juvenile fish. To protect fishery resources and restore biodiversity, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a relevant notice in 2022. From 0:00 on March 1 to 24:00 on June 30 each year, fishing is banned in the Qiantang River, Ou River, Jiao River, Yong River, Feiyun River, and Aojiang River basins. The Tiaoxi and Canal basins implement a year-round fishing ban, providing better breeding and growth time and space for parent fish and young fish, allowing fishery resources the opportunity to rest and recuperate.
