Meituan, Taobao, and JD all speak out! Responding to the new regulations on food delivery, they are joining forces with delivery riders to crack down on fake stores.
On February 26, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Regulations on the Supervision and Management of Food Safety Responsibilities of Internet Catering Service Operators", which put forward more specific requirements for the food safety responsibilities of online catering platform providers and online catering service providers. On February 27, Taobao Flash Sale and Meituan responded to the "Regulations" one after another. Taobao Flash Sale stated that they will actively implement the relevant regulations and deeply integrate into every aspect of platform operation to effectively improve the "peace of mind index" for takeaway services. In addition, under the guidance of regulatory authorities, the platform will work with ecological partners and various sectors of society to continuously build a "3+1+AI" food safety governance system, and introduce the "take a photo on the go" feature for delivery drivers to timely discover and report potential risks. Meituan, on the other hand, expressed that they will resolutely support, strictly comply with, and fully implement all requirements, closely cooperate with catering businesses, industry partners, and others to build an intelligent and proactive food safety system, promote social governance, and ensure the entire process of food safety work is done well.
