Chengdu Tianfu International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone officially began operation.
On February 27, the first airport-type comprehensive bonded zone in Sichuan - Chengdu Tianfu International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone officially started operations, injecting new energy into the high-level opening-up of the western region. Under the supervision of Chengdu Customs at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, a container truck carrying an Airbus A321 aircraft engine smoothly passed through the checkpoint and entered the bonded zone, marking the first business transaction in the bonded zone.
"This engine arrived in Chengdu from Hong Kong, and the entire process was implemented with intelligent verification and automatic comparison for efficient and smooth operation." Yang Moyu, Executive General Manager of Sichuan Zhihengda Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., stated that relying on the policy advantages of the bonded zone and convenient conditions of the area-port integration, the company's comprehensive operating costs have been reduced by about 20%, and they will further expand into bonded warehousing and other businesses to serve aviation equipment support and international supply chain operations.
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone is adjacent to Tianfu International Airport, with a planned area of 1.08 square kilometers, making it the 6th comprehensive bonded zone in Sichuan Province. After starting operations, it can achieve integrated supervision with the airport port and "one-stop" customs clearance, focusing on the development of aerospace equipment, pharmaceutical cold chain, aviation maintenance, cross-border e-commerce and other adaptive industries, expanding value-added services such as bonded repair, bonded processing, bonded R&D, and financing leasing, and promoting the integrated development of "manufacturing + international trade" and "service trade + bonded trade".
"In the aircraft maintenance scenario, the precision instruments and composite materials required for maintenance can quickly leave the bonded zone and be directly transported to the tarmac, achieving 'just in time' usage." Bai Li, Section Chief of Logistics Monitoring of Chengdu Shuangliu Airport Customs, stated that with the convenience measures such as the "24/7" customs clearance mechanism, the efficiency of aviation maintenance support will be further improved.
Chengdu Customs stated that it will continue to explore integrated supervision and institutional innovation, in order to reduce enterprise costs and enhance the level of trade facilitation with the dividends of the system.
