Question: Hong Kong media today exposed that the head of the internal affairs department in Taiwan, Liu Shifang, has relatives in mainland China investing for profit and providing political donations to Liu, revealing that Liu only allows relatives to "make money" but does not allow the public to engage in exchanges. What is the spokesperson's comment on this? We have noticed the relevant reports and are investigating the issues in accordance with the law and regulations. We will never allow "Taiwan independence" die-hards and their relatives to invest, do business, and seek profit in mainland China. We will never allow support for "Taiwan independence," those who disrupt cross-strait relations to make money in mainland China while causing chaos on the other hand. "Taiwan independence" is a dead-end, harming both themselves and others. The behaviors of "Taiwan independence" die-hards are despicable, driven solely by selfish interests, which is abhorrent. "Taiwan independence" elements and the corporations and individuals supporting them, who disrupt peace in the Taiwan Strait and harm the interests of compatriots on both sides of the strait, will be severely punished. We hope that our Taiwanese compatriots can see through the hypocritical nature and ugly essence of the "Taiwan independence" die-hards, consciously draw a clear line with them, firmly oppose their separatist actions, and work together to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
