Conflict erupts between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

On the evening of February 26th, fierce fighting broke out in the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Both sides accused each other of provocation and claimed to have killed a large number of enemy combatants, destroyed or captured each other's border posts. Early this morning, Pakistan launched airstrikes. The conflict is ongoing.
