Joint Declaration of the People's Republic of China and the Federal Republic of Germany
On February 25, the People's Republic of China and the Federal Republic of Germany issued a joint press statement. Both sides emphasized that economic and trade cooperation is an important part of their bilateral relationship and expressed a willingness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. They highlighted the importance of open dialogue, fair competition, and mutual market access. The Chinese side noted the German concerns regarding issues such as reducing dependency, trade imbalances, and export controls, while the German side acknowledged Chinese concerns about the securitization of economic and trade issues and export controls on high-tech products. Both sides expressed a willingness to address each other's concerns through open and frank dialogue in order to ensure a long-term, balanced, reliable, and sustainable economic and trade relationship. The Prime Ministers of the two countries jointly attended a roundtable meeting of the China-Germany Economic Advisory Committee and interacted with representatives of businesses from both countries. They agreed to continue their dialogue on climate change and green transformation.
