After the report sparked controversy and drew criticism from the United States, Deutsche Bank analysts said they will continue to work diligently.
Deutsche Bank analyst George Saravelos previously wrote a controversial report that has drawn criticism from the United States. He has promised to continue writing reports and stated that this incident highlights the importance of independent research. Last month, Saravelos warned that threats made by U.S. President Trump regarding Greenland could lead to Europe reducing its willingness to hold U.S. assets. A few days later, U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin stated that Deutsche Bank CEO called to say that the bank does not agree with the analyst's report. In an interview on Wednesday, Saravelos stated, "This once again confirms the importance of research independence," and mentioned receiving "huge support" from clients and colleagues. Saravelos further stated, "As long as we write solid analysis reports, aiming to be objective and focusing on the market rather than politics, I don't think it is difficult. We continue to write reports, and clients are happy to read them."
