The Hong Kong SAR Government has allocated HK$4 billion for the resettlement of victims of the Tai Po fire.

The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chan Mo-po, announced on February 25th the budget for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. He stated that the government has provided comprehensive support for the victims of the Tai Po fire, and has set aside HK$4 billion for long-term housing arrangements. Chan Mo-po mentioned that the Development Bureau is reviewing the "Urban Renewal 2.0" program and will formulate a new funding plan. The government will allocate HK$3 billion for this and allocate HK$1 billion to continue the "Optimizing Elevator Subsidy Scheme" to provide subsidies to homeowners.
