Coinbase has opened stock trading functionality to all US users, allowing customers to trade stocks and ETFs 24 hours a day, five days a week. The platform offers commission-free trading and supports fractional shares trading, with a minimum purchase amount of $1. Users can fund their trading accounts with USD and USDC, and Coinbase One members can earn rewards based on their USDC trading balance. As part of this new business, Coinbase has partnered with Yahoo Finance, allowing users to directly execute trades from Yahoo Finance's asset research pages. This integration enables traders to discover and track assets on the Yahoo interface and then complete trades directly. The company states that it will start with mainstream market stocks initially and plans to expand 24/5 trading to more stocks in the coming months. They also plan to expand their stock perpetual products range this spring to allow traders outside the US to access US stocks at all hours.
