Yangtze River & Jardine Industries Limited issued a statement on February 24th, disclosing that the Panamanian government took "forced takeover" actions on the 23rd local time, sending officials to enter the Balboa and Cristobal ports operated by its subsidiary Panamanian Ports Company, assuming full control over administrative and operational rights, and prohibiting company representatives from entering. Yangtze River & Jardine reiterated that this action is illegal and stated that they will pursue legal avenues to hold those responsible accountable.
