Report: ASML reveals breakthrough in EUV light source, chip production volume expected to increase by 50% by 2030.

Researchers at ASML have announced that they have found a way to significantly increase the power of the light source for key chip manufacturing machines, potentially increasing chip production by up to 50% by 2030. "This is not just a gimmick, nor a trick that can only be demonstrated for a very short period of time," said Michael Perakis, Chief Technology Officer for ASML's EUV light source. "This is a system capable of stably producing 1,000 watts of power, while meeting all of the practical needs of our customers," he added at the company's facility near San Diego, California.
